Republican.....you use this word but I am not sure you know what it really means. I am more of a fan of a complete dissolution of the "Union". The individual states shall become like the many countries of Europe, independent yet linked by landmass and need for external defense.

This action prevents imperialist wars and activities, protects the values of the citizens of the states, and provides stronger economical opportunities built upon competition between the states (in this instance countries/republics).

Politicians are supposed to serve the best interests of their people not go into Washington with an agenda of their own to band together with other bastards and force feed their lifestyle down others throats. I dislike close-mindedness so very much. While I am not necessarily in favor of the seemingly to me "strange lifestyles of other people" I preserve the right to defend their ability to live that lifestyle. Religion has no place in politics, even Jesus understood that; but simply the act of being a Jesus defined Christ follower means that you treat all people with love, because love is the foundation of God's purpose.

Term limits I agree with, but they do need monetary compensation for doing work. I feel like being a representative should be similar to jury duty. You get a notice, go in with a bunch of other people and are then vetted for decision making skills and general competency, and then you're given the job to do. Payment should be commensurate with what you typically make, with some additional percentage, e.g. if I make $60k a year then my base salary would be $60k plus some modifier for my time.

You're entitled to your beliefs, and I'm not Tenneseean, so what you do with your hydro power and your vote is your business. But facts is facts: coal is bad for everyone, not least the miners. I'm not saying you should hug a tree, but a little environmental big picture consideration goes a long way. I understand the long tradition and cultural influence it's had, and old habits die hard, but the world's got health issues, and burning coal is one of them.

Based off the same neutral website he doesn't seem like he wants to kill medicare/aid either. He really just wants a balanced budget and to get rid of our massive deficit.

I think a good portion of our military spending is spending just for the sake of spending it, I'm not saying I don't want our guys properly paid or that I don't want them to have the best equipment, I want both of those things, but some is over the top.

Oh good - we'll privatize Social Security and our nation's infrastructure while we're at it, because privatizing stuff has always worked out in the past.

The reason we like having a shit ton of military spending is so at the UN we can pull our balls out of our slacks and lay them on the table and say "look at our balls. They're bigger than all of your balls combined. We have the biggest balls. Don't fuck with us." We could use cuts don't get me wrong, but trying to slash 43% of our military spending in 4 years is ludicrous.

The fed made it illegal for Tennessee to profit from TVA by selling to other states. This capital could have been used to build a non-coal-dependant energy infrastructure for the state. Honestly, we don't have to use coal, becuase the TVA generates so much power, but that would have furthered our gains until now where we could get off coal and move on to more efficient/powerful Hydro/etc power
